Siren’s Call Petit Verdot 2016

This is a ripe, muscular red, beginning with aromas of mulberry, blackberry and spicy plums.
Full-bodied and with great fruit concentration, it tastes of black currants, plums, figs and spice with a hint of tobacco on the finish.
Pairs beautifully with dishes such as spicy pork or pepper steak.

It was a fluke that I saw the Siren's Call label Petit Verdot 2015 bottle on a liquor store shelf. Petit Verdot is a not a common grape to find in a bottle all by itself. Usually it is added to other wines to bring a spicy snap to the blend. On a couple of occasion's I found it alone in a bottle in California and once tasted it stays with you. So, I had to try. It was everything I hoped for, intense and delicious. I ordered six more three days later and then another six, but this time of the 2016 run, equally delicious and intense.
Powerful chocolatey nose takes me back to BC. This siren's call is hard to resist. Heavily set at 14.9%, her heavenly and seductive rich dark fruit combined with a touch of mint and a pleasant acidity makes this an exquisite beverage. Love it.
