Siren’s Call Syrah 2017

The nose is meaty with a layer of stewed plum and tobacco. The palate shows ripe black cherries, sagebrush and cured meat. There is a very impressive concentration on the mid-palate, and freshness. The finish is moderately spicy with round and velvety tannins with a touch of toasted brown sugar. The length is very impressive.

First Siren’s Call wine I’ve had and the 2016 Syrah didn’t disappoint. It took about 30 minutes to open up but then it started to shine. Only wish I’d ordered more than one bottle!
This is one elegant Syrah. A floral bouquet of violets mixed with black cherries and blackberry pie. An orchestra of black fruits jumps from the glass - black cherry, blackberries and blackcurrants with smokey black pepper notes and just a hint of tobacco. The tannins are rich but smooth with a well-rounded mouthfeel and a lovely long finish. Drink now or cellar for 5 years. A bronze medal winner at 2018 All Canadian Wine Championship.
This wine is a pale crimson red color. Big dried fruits. Spicy, smoked red bush fruits such as raspberry, cranberry and currants.
