Christine Leroux

GRAPE TO WINE CONSULTING

For over 25 years, Christine has been working in the wine industry of B.C.  She has studied oenology at the University of Bordeaux in France and on top of some of the great Châteaux of Bordeaux, worked as well in different wine regions of the world like Australia and California. It gave her a world wide winemaking experience. Also, she teaches oenology at the Okanagan College in Penticton which is part of their Assistant Winemaker program.

Being part of the B.C. wine industry for the past 25 years, gave her the chance to work with a substantial amount of different grape varieties and made different styles of wines from dry whites, barrels and oak staves aging, working with micro-oxygenation on reds, sweet and botrytis affected wines, sparkling wines all the way to Icewines. Through those many years, she overcame some of the most challenging vintages like the effect of smoke taint on the grapes and the wines.

Christine consults for many wineries around the province. In recent years, she has also brought her knowledge and desirer for quality to the fruit wine and cider industry. She is working closely with producers across British-Columbia.

In testimony, Christine describes working with Valerie and her team at BC Wine Studio has “professional and dynamic. Valerie is fun and easy to work with. She understands what needs to be done and always open to new ideas”.
