The nose on the 2020 Riesling Ehrenfelser opens with honey-mead aromas, some pear and a touch of stone fruit. On the palate, there are flavours of nectarine and lime with a lovely soft minerality. It’s got crisp, yet not overpowering, acidity which complements a delicious finish.
This wine will pair well with seared scallops with lightly grilled leeks in a lemon lime emulsion and Dungeness crab cakes with spicy red bell pepper aioli. Mussels steamed with nectarines in a light curry broth would also be lovely.
